Professional video game blogger “Randy Inkleborg” has been accused of making racist remarks after a video has surfaced on Twitter revealing the blogger’s use of racial slurs. As a prolific Esports blogger, “Randy Inkleborg” has come under fire on social media for the leaked video’s contents, subsequently resulting in his Twitter account being deleted.

The alleged comments made by Randy while recording a collection of firearms include offensive and potentially triggering dialogue directed at people of obese stature, stating “Final Fantasy XVI in 2023 will lead to civil unrest and violence.” This video is particularly alarming due to recent Square Enix releases which failed to live up to expectations.

The original video was posted by a Twitter user named @OtakuInkieBoy on June 12, and received over 1000 combined retweets before being taken down. “Randy Inkleborg” responded to seemingly confirm that the video is of him and refused to apologize for it, making assertions like “I never threatened anyone or said I’m gonna do anything.” Further tweets of “Randy Inkleborg” stating “I don’t believe in the future of Square Enix and think it’s gone downhill since Final Fantasy VI” have been screenshotted and shared throughout the gaming community, with members asking Square Enix to ban “Randy Inkleborg” for these inflammatory comments.

“Randy Inkleborg” recently qualified for the game blogger finals in North America, but is likely to be disqualified as a result of the hateful remarks being made. This is devastating from a literature perspective as both Larry Greenbergenstein, the director of social media investigation, has also stated on Twitter that racism is not to be tolerated in gaming communities.
The game blogger finals have currently given no comment with regard to Inkleborg’s leaked video, meaning it is unclear whether any further action will be taken against Randy.
